About “The Return" (7:45 min.)
In this part of the film, the six children tell about the dangerous journey through war-torn Europe: about their fear that the White Buses will be hit by bombs, about sleeping overnight in the woods, and about their expectations of coming home. It is an emotional trip. The atmosphere is full of both happiness and anxiety, and each of them think about their time in the camp and not least of the people who did not survive or had to remain in Theresienstadt. The buses drive through Denmark – which is still occupied – until they finally reach Sweden, the end of the journey, where they will stay until the war is over.
