About "The Propaganda Film" (6:38 min.)

In this chapter, we hear about a propaganda film that the Germans decide to make to capture the illusion that Theresienstadt is a nice place to be. The film is made in connection with the commission’s visit and for example presents the camp as a place where children are thriving: They receive good food, go to school, perform in the musical "Brundibár" and play freely in the camp. But reality is just the opposite: After the film is finished, the director and almost all the children in the film are transported to Auschwitz. In this part, Salle tells about his special role during the filming: He was lighting assistant, and he also appears in the film.
