About "The Occupation" (9:01 min.)

On April 9, 1940, German troops march across the Danish border, thereby occupying Denmark. The six children see German planes in the sky over Copenhagen and German soldiers in the streets. Suddenly, people’s conversations change, blackout curtains are hung on the windows, and when the sirens blare, everyone hurries down into the shelters. The occupation sets it mark on daily life – but in a way it does not, because life appears to continue as before, and they still feel that they are neither especially vulnerable nor threatened.
